Sylvia Young brings a unique blend of sales, marketing, and consulting skills to The Power Is Now Inc. Her experience gives her a definite edge when it comes to leveraging technology on behalf of her clients. She is a creative thinker and problem solver with excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Her clients find that her strong negotiation skills are invaluable in reaching a satisfactory outcome in their transactions.
Sylvia Young obtained her broker’s license in 2005, and worked independently in her own brokerage until joining The Power Is Now, Inc., in 2017. She has continued that success throughout her stellar career. Sylvia Young has been licensed by the California Bureau of Real Estate since 1989. She has gained invaluable knowledge and experience at both nationally known real estate franchises and non-franchised independent brokerages.
A thorough knowledge and interpretation of contracts and a strong ability to negotiate are her most valuable assets earned from over two decades of real estate experience, shop steward experience with the Amalgamated Transit Union, Local 1555, and executive producer experience with an entertainment company. For eight years, she assisted Department of Defense civilian and/or military personnel with the arrangements of relocating their personal property and household goods worldwide.
A native of the Bay Area, Sylvia is a Certified San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District Train Operator, a certified travel agent, an actress, writer, and the filmmaker and executive producer of a web series that is currently being broadcast on both Facebook & YouTube. One of her real estate listings was featured on HGTV’s Property Broker show. She has a Certificate in Transit & Paratransit Management from the University of the Pacific and is a board member of the Golden Gate Community Association in North Oakland. She is the mother of one daughter.
In her limited spare time, you will find Sylvia crafting, writing, cooking, reading, or enjoying music. Sylvia’s daughter is the true motivation for her life. She serves on her neighborhood’s board of directors and as soon as she gets enough money, she wants to establish a non-profit geared toward kids in their late teens through early twenties who are transitioning from childhood to adulthood.
2017 has been an amazing year for Sylvia. When asked about the lessons she has learnt this year, she said, “Don’t buy if you don’t love it. Sometimes you have to suck it up in order to get what you want. Choose your battles. Align yourself with people who are successful in doing things that you want to be successful in, and learn from them. Being humble goes a long way.”
